Getting those photos from your memory stick (or phone's camera roll) to a print shop is SO easy these days. But yet, how many of us are actually taking advance of them? Keep reading for some of our favorite online photo resources.I'm sure you've heard the ads, "print as many free 5x7's as you want, just pay a small shipping charge" and thought, "oh, I should download that app so I can do that!". But life gets away from you and then you realize it's been months, or maybe even years, since you've compiled a folder of your favorite photos for printing. We are so bad at procrastinating on prints that we just finished and ordered a photo book for a trip we took in 2013! Nearly 5 years later... Oops! The printing of that book actually sparked this travel tip. I shared a couple snaps on my personal Instagram and several people messaged me about the company and asked our opinion on how reliable they are. There are so many resources on the world wide web these days, it's hard to know who to trust and how the product will come out. So, I thought I would write up a quick review of our favorite online companies for photo prints, books, and other creative photo projects. Instagram dominates the visual social media world. Lots of photos you love find their way to the gram and I'm sure you've seen ads on Instagram itself for printing your feed. Postagram, Printstagram, Postalpix, the list goes on! I've only printed from one and it was Stickygram. At the time, they had a non-sticky counterpart called Sticky9 that would print up to 30 pictures from your profile, you just pay for the shipping. It was super easy and the quality was pretty good. Another IG print company I'm interested in is Chatbooks. They look adorable but I just haven't decided if it's worth it. Maybe if you have kids it would be way more meaningful for the books. Speaking of books... Since our wedding book, we've been using this company called Adoramapix. They really are a cut above the rest. Adoramapix services the photography community, meaning everything they do is high quality and custom. They double check your work, will run it through a professional editor to make corrections, if you have a specific type of paper you want your work printed on, they'll do it. Since we are hobbyist photographers, some of the options are over our heads but their work is excellent. We've ordered many different sizes of prints, from wedding photos to travel shots, but we continue to go back because of their books. Adoramapix has a great, easy to use website with tech support, built-in help features, and a preview format to show you exactly how your project will look printed. Once you create an account, you have a dashboard where all your projects are stored. You can upload your photos to their website and easily add them to projects for printing, books, canvas, metal, an wood creations. We've printed photo books through Shutterfly, Picaboo, Snapfish... Nothing is as professional or quality as Adoramapix. Although Shutterfly is not our ideal place for books, we do love them for just about everything else. If we aren't using Walgreens (another great option for 4x6 or 5x7 prints), we use Shutterfly for yearly desk calendars, Christmas cards, and small prints. They ship fast and usually have awesome deals, I'm talking 40-50% off and free shipping! A great spot for fun, short term photo projects. What are some of your favorite online resources for printing photos? Feel free to leave us a comment!
Until Next Time, C + D
