Our most recent trip to Europe sparked a desire to get back on this blog and share our experiences. Before we discuss our 2023 trip to Europe, we wanted to talk about our 2022 trip of slow travel through Barcelona, Mallorca and Madrid, Spain.Hi! It's been a while! Considering our extended break from this blog, we wanted to say thank you to everyone that continued to revisit old posts and look at our travel itineraries. We've still had a large number of page views and for that, we are grateful. Right after Chase finished his three years at Baylor, we took a celebratory trip to Spain. This was our "return to travel" vacation, our first time traveling post COVID and Law School. Chase took on the responsibility of planning the whole trip and before we left, he shared our day-to-day plan here. He did such a thorough job that the itinerary he posted it was nearly identical to how we actually spent our time in Spain. Take a look at that article if you want details. For now, we're just going to highlight some favorite things from Madrid. We spent three full days in Madrid. We landed around 11am and after dropping our bags at the hotel, we took off to see (and eat) as much as we could. Again, our travel itinerary article post was identical to our first day in Madrid (labeled as Day 2) so use that for reference on these locations. The flamenco show was amazing! The dancers, the guitarist, the vocalists... they were all incredible. The next day, we saw billboards around town with the male dancer from our show promoting an upcoming ballet for the National Dance Company. We realized then that Corral de la Moreria uses some solid artists for their shows! Days 3 and 4 were spent hopping from park to park and we explored all three levels of the Prado Museum. Then, there was the famous food hall and lots of snacks like churros, chocolate cakes, various tapas in the latin quarter, vermut and cava. Some of our favorite things from Madrid, and there were a lot because this city was incredible, were: Pum Pum Bakery, the Crystal Palace, La Venencia, the Prado, Casa Toni, and Retiro Park. And bonus, all the third wave coffee shops were top notch, perfect for fighting jet lag. Madrid really blew us away. It was incredibly clean and everyone was so friendly. We honestly can't say enough good things about this city, we talk about going back all the time... AND we're only 3 days into this trip. Can't wait to share Mallorca and Barcelona with you soon.
Until Next Time, C+D
